David Campbell

Lead Front End Developer

Talented artist and cutting-edge creative

David's journey to joining Nebula Labs was different to the rest of developer team. With a keen interest in art and video games, he undertook a Games Design degree course with Newcastle College in 2016, with a view to becoming a concept artist.

However, upon graduation, he discovered that there was significant opportunities for a designer of his calibre to get involved in the thriving Newcastle tech sector working as a frontend developer - combining design skills with programming skills. To help him achieve this new ambition, he turbo charged his programming skills by undertaking This Is Creative Enterprise's (TICE) prestigious Ladders software development course. Here he recieved a crash course in a variety of programming languages - HTML5, CSS3, etc. - rapidly building a portfolio of small projects demonstrated his progress over course of several months.

In late 2017, following successful completion of Ladders, David joined Nebula Labs. Since then, he has taken a lead on providing design-led front end interfaces for a wide variety of web and mobile app development projects. This has included taking a lead on producing new web experiences for Visit North Tyneside and Cobalt Business Park. David stands as an outstanding testament to the argument that any individual get involved in software development, regardless of previous experience. Indeed, his games design brings a significant skills diversity to the products and service Nebula Labs offer.
